Mercedes W115 W123 Manual Transmission 716.210 for OM616 & OM617 NA Diesel EARLY

$ 132

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: The listing includes just the transmission. I have removed the rear mount, slave, and hose. Includes all other parts attached to the transmission as shown in the photos. I tested the trans by filling it with ATF, and running through all the gears at about 1000 rpm using a drill motor as a drive device. The trans shifted into and out of all gears quite smoothly. It finds all gears, including reverse, and does so without grinding. There was however and clunking sound and feeling associated with the front input shaft, as if a bearing or gear was bad, so I do not feel confident that this unit will run correctly.

    Description

    W123 240D 4-speed manual transmission
    This transmission was removed from a '78
    240D.
    The transmission has problems so it will was not included in the kit I am offering in a separtate listing
    .  As I understand, this 4-speed with a cast iron case will fit W115 and W123 Diesel models with the OM616 and OM617 normally aspirated engines.  May fit W123Turbo and W126 models as well, but mods may be required.  My research suggest the follow compatibility:
    Compatibility/Interchange
    OM616.912 & .916 Diesel
    1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976

    1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983
    W123:

    OM617.910 & .912 NA Diesel
