This is a beautiful vintage Miguel Chavez painting from the 1970s or so.  Painted on canvas in the
Santiago Atitlan region of Guatemala. Chavez is one of the most regarded artists of the country.  The work is a rare example of his early work.
Miguel Chavez worked with Juan Sisay for many years, and married one of Juan's daughters. Miguel Chavez's art has evolved from a primitivistic style to a more modern expressionistic look.
Nice vintage condition, but there is one pin whole in the upper left (as pictured).  The painting measures 12" x 15".
